Faqs: what would you like to know?

Where is your office located? I live near you, like within driving distance.

Brownstone Business Condominiums                    25511 Budde Road                                                        Marimed Building, Suite 401
The Woodlands, TX 77380

We are in the Brownstone Office Condominiums complex on Budde road in The Woodlands, Texas.

Many of the buildings in the complex look alike, so I’m glad someone decided to give each building a name – much easier to find this way! Ours is the Marimed building.

You can park in front or in back. This location is on the west side of I-45.

We welcome clients from The Woodlands and surrounding areas of Spring, Conroe, Montgomery, Magnolia, Klein, Cypress, and north Houston, as well as Humble, Atascocita, Kingwood, Willis, Huntsville and beyond!

I don’t live near you. Can we still work together?

YES! We have clients around Texas – and throughout Utah!

All our therapists are fully licensed in Texas, and they have completed the state-mandated training for providing Technology Assisted Therapy Services (TAS) (aka Online Therapy).

Therefore, we can provide our excellent therapy for individuals, couples, and families via online video. We connect on the Internet using the Zoom platform. It’s very simple. You do need a good Internet connection and a webcam on your device.

Is your office handicapped-accessible?

This is a weak “yes.” There is a ramp in the front of the building. There is a small step up for the front door and back door threshold. We have therapy space both on the main floor and upstairs. There is no elevator in the building.

What are your office hours?

We start at 9 a.m. Monday – Saturday.

On Monday – Friday, the last appointment of the day starts at 7:00 p.m. On Saturday, the last appointment of the day is at 12:00 p.m.

How long is a typical session?

Sessions are generally 50 minutes – therapists call it the 50-minute hour. That gives your therapist time after each session to do notes and get ready for the next session.

Sometimes, longer sessions are needed; i.e., 75 minutes or even 100 minutes. Sometimes 50 minutes doesn’t allow for the time required to fully explore and experience what is needed. Your therapist will discuss this with you.

What is the hourly fee?

Each of our therapists determines their own fee. The rates range from $100/hour to $150/hour. Some of the factors that play into the different rates include specialties, unique trainings, experience, and education.

How do I pay?

You can pay by cash, check, credit card or health savings account card. If you will be using your credit card, we ask you to fill out a Credit Card Authorization Form which gives us permission to charge your card for the services we provide.

Do you accept insurance?

No. We are not on any insurance panels. If your insurance plan includes out-of-network benefits, some percentage of our services may be eligible for reimbursement.

We can give you a super receipt with all the information your insurance plan needs, that you can submit to them.

Please check your coverage carefully by asking your insurance provider the following questions:

  • Do I have out-of-network mental health benefits?
  • What is my deductible and has it been met?
  • What is the coverage amount per therapy session for out-of-network?
What is your cancellation policy?

We require 24-hours’ notice if you need to cancel. We are also reasonable people, and we understand that emergencies sometimes happen.

Bottom line: if you aren’t going to make your session, let your therapist know as soon as possible. We care about our clients and what is going on in their lives, so please do talk to your therapist if you can’t make your session.

Non-emergency cancellations are charged the full fee of the session.

Is your furniture comfortable?

Such a great question! An hour on a couch? That could be an endurance trial. Our clients tell us that our furniture IS comfortable!

Our desire is for you to walk into any of our therapy spaces and feel welcome, and peaceful, and homey, and like it’s a safe place.

Should I wear waterproof mascara?

We welcome emotions here. We work with emotions to get to healing. Emotions actually help you get to the heart of things. So… it’s up to you about the mascara. See “tissues” below.

What brand of tissues do you offer?

Whatever brand they are, they’re 3-ply and very soft!

Cats or Dogs?

I love animals! My husband has a small Boer goat farm with 20 or so goats of varying ages, and I sometimes help him with the feeding. Right now, we are bottle-feeding two of the baby goats. There are several chickens that enjoy a free-range life and lay brown eggs.

We also have a yellow-striped cat who was dropped off in our driveway as a small kitten and now roams wherever he wants, while keeping the barn free of rats and mice, and he keeps the barn swallows a-flutter!

Our dog “Clyde” is a livestock guardian dog – Anatolian Shepherd. I’ve been told that these dogs were bred in Turkey specifically to protect livestock and small animals, as well as the young children of royalty.
