Faline Christensen, PhD, LMFT-Supervisor, Clinical Director, Owner/Manager

You have tried to be a good spouse but your partner doesn’t appreciate you. Instead you get criticism. You get lectures on how you could be more successful, or be better with the kids. It seems like no matter how hard you try, it’s never enough. There’s too much fighting, or you suffer in cold silence. You used to be able to talk about anything, but not anymore. You feel alone, rejected, disconnected from each other. It may be that one or both of you have turned toward someone or something else for comfort. You just don’t feel loved and valued by your partner like you used to. You have lost almost all hope for healing.

Never let anyone tell you that it is too late for your marriage or that your troubles are just too tough to tackle! You have found in me a strong advocate for your happy, connected marriage relationship. I do have hope for couples in these difficult relationships because I have seen so many couples make the changes necessary to succeed. Together you can work through these big challenges, betrayals, and traumas. You can develop better patterns with each other. You can ultimately build that soul-filling deep emotional connection with your spouse who will be there for you and stand beside you in the marriage you always yearned for.

First, I’m married and have been for almost 50 years. I absolutely know the struggles and how to get through them intact, and happy! Second, I have children–9 of them, and all ours. There are different challenges in marriage with children involved, and I know how to work through those also. Lots of mistakes were made and many lessons learned! Third, my training at Auburn University and Texas Tech University, culminated in a Ph.D. in Marriage and Family Therapy. My research focused on stepfamilies, and divorce experiences of people of faith. I developed a skills-based toolbox which means that each couple receives the specific help and support and guidance they want and need. I have been helping couples heal for 20+ years!
